Personal training for the elderly in Singapore is its own discipline. The standard CBD gym programme assumes a 30-something with no joint history and a recoverable Sunday. That programme will hurt anybody over 60 within a fortnight, and it will keep them away from training for years afterwards.
Singapore is on a super-ageing trajectory. By 2030, one in four residents will be 65 or older. The medical literature is unambiguous about what carries people through that decade well: protected lean muscle, preserved grip strength, dynamic balance, and a heart that recovers quickly from effort. Catalyst is built around the four pillars that measure exactly those systems.
The entry point is the same as for any other client. What we don't run. No silver-fitness classes, no group workouts dressed up as personal training, no transformation challenges, no aesthetic targets. The aesthetics are a side effect of training that works; they are not the brief.
What the programme typically prioritises after 50. Reversing sarcopenia, the age-related muscle loss that drives independence loss, through progressive resistance training. Building grip strength back into the 90th percentile for your age. Y-Balance score back above the asymmetry threshold that predicts injury. Heart Rate Recovery tracked through 16-week Checkpoints so you can see the trend, not just feel it.
How sessions look. One coach, one client, calibrated load. The strength work uses Watson UK platforms and Keiser USA pneumatics, the pneumatic resistance is particularly useful at the joint-loading thresholds that work for older adults. Sessions are 60 minutes, in our private Manulife Tower studio, never crowded, never rushed.

No. The Catalyst Healthspan Assessment calibrates the programme to where your body actually is, not where you think it should be. Strength work is loaded against your current capacity, the Y-Balance Test sets the stability baseline, and grip strength gives us a clean read regardless of training history. Members start in their fourth decade in the gym, and members start in their seventh decade with no prior personal training experience. The programme adapts to each.

Properly programmed resistance training is one of the better long-term options for arthritic joints, and the inflammation literature points the same direction. We don't load through pain, we work around it, and we use the Movement Pattern Strength Assessment to identify which patterns are clean and which need a different entry path. If you've been told by a physio to avoid certain ranges, share that with your coach at the assessment. Your programme will respect those constraints from day one.

It's 1:1, in a private studio at Manulife Tower CBD, calibrated to your pillar scores. Group senior-fitness programmes work to the median of the room, which means underloading the strong half and overloading the rest. Catalyst is one coach with one client, training prescribed to your data, in a private setting that's never crowded.

Packages are use-when-you-can, not subscription debits. A fortnight away doesn't cost you a fortnight of sessions. You retain the unused sessions and pick the schedule back up when you're ready. We'd rather you train consistently across decades than crash through a 12-week block.
