Stride For Good 2026: A New 6KM Route Marks BCARE's 30th Anniversary

Every October, Bethesda CARE Centre (BCARE) turns a Saturday morning at Punggol into a fundraiser with a finish line. Stride For Good 2026 marks the social service agency's 30th year of operation and its fourth edition of the run, and this year adds a first: a 6km competitive route that loops into Coney Island. Thirty years, one mission

BCARE has operated across five centres in Singapore's north-east since 1996, supporting low-income families, isolated and frail seniors, and people managing mental health conditions, together with their caregivers. Its work spans milk powder and diaper assistance, educational and character-building programmes for children and youth, active ageing activities, and a psychiatric day rehabilitation programme, reaching more than 2,000 beneficiaries a year. Stride For Good is BCARE's own fundraiser, not a licensed charity race run by an events company. That distinction is part of why the event has built a loyal following since its 2023 debut.

What's new in the 2026 edition

Since its inaugural run in 2023, Stride For Good has raised more than SGD 1 million for BCARE. The 2026 edition, timed to the charity's 30th anniversary, is the largest yet, with a SGD 500,000 target. The headline change is the 6km Competitive Run, the event's first competitive category. The route starts near Punggol Coast Mall and loops through Coney Island Park, with a stretch alongside the waterfront before returning to Punggol Digital District. The 3km Fun Run keeps its family-first format, open to all ages, with children 6 and under joining at no charge alongside a parent or guardian.

Before the flag-off, ActiveSG runs a 30-minute Active Health Mobility Assessment Programme open to participants, screening mobility, stability and functional movement so runners know what they are bringing to the start line. More than a race

The morning runs alongside an event village at Nexus, Punggol Coast Mall, with performances from BCARE's own beneficiaries, activity and craft booths, and a blessing draw for every registered participant. Guest of Honour Mr Baey Yam Keng, Mayor of the North East District and Minister of State for Transport and for Culture, Community and Youth, will be at the flag-off.

How to take part

Registration is open at sfg.sg and closes 24 August 2026. Those who cannot make race day can still back the cause: BCARE's parallel 30km challenge lets supporters walk, run, cycle or skate the distance anywhere between 1 July and 31 October, and donations can be made directly through BCARE's Stride For Good page. BCARE is an Institution of a Public Character, so donations are 2.5 times tax deductible.

Thirty years of BCARE's work, and four editions of a run built to fund it, is the kind of local milestone worth showing up for, whether that is the 6km start line or the donation page.
