August to September, across a two-month window
Run For Singapore, a Singapore virtual challenge typically held august to september, across a two-month window, gets its own guide here: the distance options, the window to expect, how registration works, and how to train for each option, whether you are starting from zero or adding it to a full training week.
The nationwide virtual challenge timed around National Day.
A virtual challenge rather than a single race morning: you cover your chosen distance anywhere, anytime within the event window, and log it with the watch or app you already use. Run, walk, cycle or swim, at any fitness level. The two options, 6.1km in a single effort or 61km accumulated across the window, make it work as a first goal for someone starting out and as a volume challenge for a regular runner.
Recent editions have typically offered:
Categories and fees change year to year. Confirm the current distances, dates, and registration on the official Run For Singapore page.
Next confirmed edition: 31 July 2026 to 29 September 2026, virtual, run anywhere.
The 6.1km option asks the same of you as any short race: build to moving continuously for 40 to 50 minutes and you are ready. Someone already active needs two to four weeks; a beginner should give themselves six to eight, mixing walking and running at first.
The 61km option is a consistency challenge, not an endurance test. Spread across the window it works out to a few short sessions a week, and the people who finish it are the ones who schedule those sessions rather than chase big catch-up days. Treat it as two months of building the habit; that habit is worth more than the finisher entitlements.
However you take it on, structure beats enthusiasm. Most recreational runners improve fastest by running most of their week easy and keeping the hard days genuinely hard. If you want a plan built around your assessment and this race as the target, our personal training for runners does exactly that. You can also predict your finish time with our running pace calculator and dial in your easy pace with the heart rate zones calculator.
