THE HEALTHSPAN AUDIT

Score your healthspan on the same 0 to 10 scale we use in our Singapore CBD studio. Across the four pillars that the research links to how long, and how well, you live.

What this is

A 12-question Healthspan Score estimate

The Catalyst Healthspan Audit is a free 12-question self-assessment built on the four pillars of healthspan: body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, stability, and strength. It produces a directional Healthspan Score on a 0 to 10 scale that mirrors the in-studio Catalyst Healthspan Assessment used at Catalyst Performance, a personal training studio at Manulife Tower in Singapore CBD.

The audit takes around 2 minutes on a phone. Your full report, with score, pillar breakdown, and personalised next steps, lands in your inbox the moment you finish.

In plain English

What a healthspan audit is, simply

Lifespan is how long you live. Healthspan is how long you live well, with strong cardio, stable joints, useful strength, and healthy body composition. The Catalyst Healthspan Audit estimates where you stand on those four pillars in 12 questions.

You answer on a phone. No measuring tape, no smartwatch required (though if you wear one, the optional precision mode uses your real numbers). The audit takes about 3 minutes.

At the end you get a Healthspan Score on a 0 to 10 scale, a breakdown of your weakest pillar, and a personalised report in your inbox. The same scale we use with members in our Singapore CBD studio.

It's free and you don't need to book anything. Most people use it to see whether the in-studio Catalyst Healthspan Assessment, which is the full one-on-one measurement, is worth their time.

  • Untraineddeclines from midlife
  • Trainedholds, then a short decline
Dashed line: the capacity you need to live on your own terms. Shaded: the years training buys. The untrained curve follows Singapore’s figures: 83.9 years lived on average (Department of Statistics, June 2026) and the last 11.2 of them in poor health (Ministry of Health, 2023). The trained curve is illustrative, after the compression-of-morbidity evidence: train the four pillars and the decline comes later and shorter.

Why it matters

What over 1500 audits reveal

Dr Luqman Haris on the pattern that keeps showing up in the data: age, body fat, and muscle predict how well someone ages more than anything else, and muscle is the one most people manage worst.

How it works

01

12 questions, 2 minutes

Mobile-friendly chips. No instruments, no measuring tape. Optional precision mode if you have an Apple Watch, Garmin, or Oura.

02

Four pillars, scored honestly

Body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, stability, strength. Each pillar contributes to your composite Healthspan Score on a 0 to 10 scale.

03

Your full report, in your inbox

Score, pillar breakdown, your weakest pillar, personalised next steps, and a downloadable PDF. The studio assessment is the gold standard, this is the doorway.

The 0 to 10 scale

What your score means

Five bands on the same 0 to 10 scale used in studio. Where you land is less important than which pillar is pulling the score down.

  • 9.5+

    Elite

Healthspan reserve across all four pillars. Maintenance and refinement.

  • 7.0 to 9.5

    Strong

Solid foundation with room to sharpen one or two pillars.

  • 5.5 to 7.0

    Developing

Clear growth zones. Structured training is high leverage.

  • 3.0 to 5.5

    At Risk

Multiple pillars below average. Training is a health priority.

  • 0.0 to 3.0

    Critical

Serious deficits. Medical consultation alongside training is appropriate.

Who is this for

Three kinds of people take it

Anyone over 35 who has noticed the body changing. Recovery takes longer, joints have started to talk back, the same workout doesn't move the needle the way it used to. The audit gives a directional read on how much of that is real, and which pillar to address first.

Anyone training already, but unsure if it's pointing in the right direction. Plenty of people put in the hours but have never had their work calibrated against the four pillars. The audit highlights blind spots that volume alone won't fix. See 1:1 personal training if you want a coach to act on what the audit surfaces.

Anyone post-physio, post-pregnancy, or post-illness rebuilding from a baseline. The audit is a sober snapshot of where the rebuild starts. See post-injury training or post-natal training for the studio's approach.

Common questions

About the audit

Q. 01

What is the Healthspan Audit

A free 12-question self-assessment built on the four pillars of healthspan that the research consistently links to lifespan and functional independence. It produces a directional Healthspan Score on the same 0 to 10 scale used in the in-studio Catalyst Healthspan Assessment.

Q. 02

What is healthspan, and how is it different from lifespan

Lifespan is how long you live. Healthspan is how long you live well, with strong cardio, stable joints, useful strength, and healthy body composition. Two people can share the same lifespan and have very different healthspans. The audit estimates how much of your remaining years are likely to be lived in good health, not just alive.

Q. 03

What is a Healthspan Score

A composite number from 0 to 10 that reflects your performance across four pillars: body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, stability, and strength. It is the same scale we use with members in our Singapore studio. Above 9.5 is Elite, 7.0 to 9.5 is Strong, 5.5 to 7.0 is Developing, 3.0 to 5.5 is At Risk, below 3.0 is Critical.

Q. 04

How accurate is the score

The audit uses self-report proxies because the in-studio assessment requires equipment you don't have at home (BIA scanner, dynamometer, Y Balance Test setup, loaded movement assessment). Your audit score lands within roughly half a band of what the studio would measure for the typical user. The studio assessment remains the gold standard.

Q. 05

Why 12 questions

Each pillar gets two to three questions, plus sleep and mobility. Twelve is the count that captures the four-pillar coverage without bloating the experience. The optional precision-mode toggle adds four more fields for users who already track wearable data.

Q. 06

Do I need a wearable like an Apple Watch or Garmin

No. The audit works on self-report alone and lands at a directional score that is good enough for the decision the audit is built to support: whether to book the in-studio assessment. If you already wear an Apple Watch, Garmin, Oura, Whoop, or similar, the optional precision-mode toggle takes your resting heart rate, VO2 max, and a few movement self-tests as additional inputs to tighten the estimate.

Q. 07

How is this different from a body composition scan or VO2 max test

Single-pillar tests measure one thing well. A DEXA or InBody gives you body composition. A VO2 max test gives you cardio. The audit covers all four pillars in one pass and produces a composite that tells you which pillar is your weakest, the one most worth training first. The in-studio Catalyst Healthspan Assessment then measures each pillar with proper equipment.

Q. 08

Who built the audit, and is it based on research

The audit was built by the Catalyst Performance team, led by Bervin Manoharan and Dr Luqman Haris, against the four-pillar healthspan framework documented in our methodology. The pillars and their underlying assessments are anchored in peer-reviewed literature on body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, balance, and strength as predictors of all-cause mortality and functional independence. See our approach for the full evidence trail.

Q. 09

What happens after I submit

Your full report goes to your inbox in roughly 60 seconds. It includes your score, a per-pillar breakdown, a personalised summary of your weakest pillar, and a downloadable PDF you can save or share with your doctor. Then you decide whether to book the in-studio Catalyst Healthspan Assessment for the real measurement.

Q. 10

Is this a medical assessment

No. The Healthspan Audit is an educational self-assessment, not a medical diagnosis. If you have active cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, or balance concerns, consult a doctor before starting any new exercise programme. The in-studio assessment is also non-diagnostic, but is delivered by qualified coaches with a contraindication checklist before any loaded testing.

The studio measurement is the gold standard

The audit is the doorway. The 60-minute Catalyst Healthspan Assessment is the real measurement, with BIA, dynamometer, Y Balance Test, and loaded movement screening. Complimentary, no commitment.
